Friday 11 September – EVOLVE presentation David Lort Philips
Continuing the Bookworm’s commendable series of events dedicated to Dinosaurs, Darwin and Discovery comes a presentation by David Lort Philips. Director of the Darwin Centre in South Wales and soon-to-be crewmember of a team hoping to recreate the historic voyage of Darwin’s ship The HMS Beagle, Philips presentation promises to be a fascinating one, and well worth a trip to Sanlitun. Friday 11 September- Golf lessons for kids
If you disagree with Mark Twain that golf is “a good walk spoiled,” then why not head down to Dulwich’s legend garden campus for golf lessons with pro instructor Bobby Miller for kids aged 5-7 years old. Saturday 12 September– Football Courses
Autumn really is the best time in the year for a kick-around, and if your kid is a wannabe Ronaldo or Messi, then best sign them up quick to a ClubFootball coaching course. For ages 4-18. RMB 850 (10 weeks) and includes beverages, certificate, player profile, team photo. Saturday 12 September- Madame Butterfly
Few operas are as internationally recognized and lauded as Madame Butterfly by the great Italian composer Giacomo. So if you and your family have the ear – and patience – to listen to a full opera, then this is the one to go to. A thrilling tale of love, loss and life in Nagasaki, Japan. Sunday 13 September- Kids Writing workshop
Back to The Bookworm this Sunday for a kids writing workshop with Beijing based novelist Cathy Sampson. Cathy will get kids thinking about all sorts of amazing things like: “What would you do if you were faced with a T-Rex?” and “What would life be like if the dinosaurs came back?”.
