Today is China’s 60th anniversary and the show is set to be a big one. Most of the city in lockdown today, so avoid any hassles and watch the biggest show of the decade unfold from the comfort of your lounge room. Tune into CCTV1 to watch the celebrations. Festivities start from 7am.

Fri 2 – ClubFootball Fun
If your kids think there’s nothing to do during the Oct holiday, think again! ClubFootball will be running soccer programs everyday until Oct 7. Coaching program will be running at run at over 20 locations in Beijing and Tianjin for boys and girls of all levels ages 4-18. Sat 3 – Voice and Stage Acting Workshop for Kids
It’s not too late to get your kids into this 12-week workshop. Today is only the second session, so there’s plenty of fun to go! Kids ages 8-12 learn acting, public speaking, creative writing, and design skills. The workshops will culminate in the performance of an original play in early Dec. Sun 4 – Relax, it’s Brunch 
We can’t get enough of the Zen5es brunch at the Westin Chaoyang and their amazing on-site ayi. Parents love it because they can sit back and enjoy a delicious dim sum brunch, without worry about their little ones. Kids love it because of the playroom packed with videogames, toys, and a TV. Thu 8 – Vote Earth
Don’t miss out on the Vote Earth activities at the Schoolhouse at Mutianyu to mark the upcoming Copenhagen climate conference. Kids and parents can make their very own “Vote Earth” lantern, which will be hung in the Schoolhouse restaurant. One of the lanterns will be selected for Project Lantern in Copenhagen and displayed with others received by WWF from kids all around the world. Runs until Oct 10. Fri 9 – Head to Tiantan

Don’t Forget: Get a “through” ticket at Tiantan (Temple of Heaven) for RMB 35. This gives you access to everything the park has to offer and is well worth the extra cost.
Sat 10 – Hutong Pizza
Let kids get nice and messy in someone else’s kitchen for once. Children ages 6 and up learn how to make a variety of dishes from local and foreign ingredients. Sun 11 – Bowling and Dogs 
Get the clan together for a day of bowling and hot dogs. First stop is Gongti 100, the bowling alley at the east gate of the Worker’s Stadium. Once you and the kids are all bowled out, take a short stroll to Gate 10 of the Workers’ Stadium to the newly opened Stadium Dog. They take this American classic very seriously offering a range of sauces, toppings, and even a veggie dog. This small eatery has stools and a bathroom, but no counter seating. Stadium Dog is best for daytime snack stops as there is a bar attached to the rear that can get a little smoky and rowdy at night. RMB 65 gets you a three-dog combo plus a soft drink. Don’t Forget: The Worker’s Stadium and surrounding venues should definitely be open by now, however best to call ahead and check that Gongti 100 and Stadium Dog are indeed open.
