Top Marks for YCIS Beijing
YCIS Beijing Year 13 students performed exceptionally well in the 2011 IB examinations. Forty-one percent of students scored over 40 points (equivalent to four A+ at A-Level). This is an impressive feat considering only 4.5 percent of students tested worldwide achieved 40 points or above. One YCIS Beijing student, Helen Leung, scored the maximum points possible (45 out of a possible 45). Students are now fi nalizing their university plans and preparing for the next step in their lives.

Odd Name, Great Tees
Wudaoying Hutong now boasts a trendy new resident: Shanghai Quality Yarn T-shirt (SQYT), a four-year-old T-shirt brand along the same vein of Beijing’s Plastered T-shirts and NLGX Design. Tianjin Goldin Metropolitan Polo Club
Care for a spot of polo? Tianjin-based Goldin Metropolitan Polo Club will be launching their Junior Equestrian and Polo Programme (JEPP) for ages10-18. Kids will learn stable management, basic riding skills and correct mallet techniques. The camps have two intakes in August: Aug 13-21 (starting from RMB 30,000 including accommodation) and Aug 25-28 (cost TBD). MSB Opens a New Campus!
The International Montessori School of Beijing (MSB) is opening its fourth campus this month. The new school building, located a short distance from Beijing Riviera, will house Reception and Elementary classrooms (up to Grade 6). The new school building has a large outdoor space, spacious classrooms, a 250sqm music studio, separate dry and wet art studios, a library, an indoor swimming pool, large sports facilities, as well as a reading room for parents.
