Cuisine: Italian
English menu? Yes
Kid’s menu? No
General kid friendliness of menu: Kids can definitely find something to eat in the wide selection of pizzas and pastas.
Staff: The staff speaks limited English and has to be prompted for service.
Bathroom: The bathroom is located inside Landgent Mall, just around the corner from
Meeting Point. The sit-down toilets are reasonably clean.
Best items for kids: The menu is full of unusual options (think spaghetti with squid
ink), but families can find familiar dishes such as spaghetti bolognese (RMB 36) and ravioli with cream sauce (RMB 59).
Kids’ play area: No, but Landgent Center contains the UME International Cineplex.
Seating: Meeting Point has spacious booths and tables, as well as highchairs.
Price: RMB 200-250
Accepts credit cards? Yes
Must-order item: Any of the restaurant’s thin base pizzas, like the unusual pizza con
uva e ricotta with grapes, rosemary, pine nuts, and ricotta (RMB 59).
In a nutshell: The service could be better, but this quiet and classy Italian restaurant
injects some much-needed Western fare into the Shuangjing food scene. Meeting Point is clearly geared towards couples and business types, but that shouldn’t stop families from enjoying the array of Abruzzese-inspired dishes.
