General kid friendliness of menu: The play area, the different kinds of grilled meats, and the array of milkshakes all make this place a more kid-friendly option in Sanlitun.
Staff: Very attentive with passable English. Sometimes they make mistakes (forgetting about a drink order, not bringing out bread for the hummus), but overall the service is good.
Bathroom: Clean Western-style toilets.
Best items for kids: Off the kids’ menu, try the chicken kebab (RMB 32), lubia polo (basmati rice simmered with beef in a tomato-based sauce) for RMB 35 and milkshakes (RMB 30).
Kids’ play area? Yes. There are toy animals, Legos and building bricks.
Seating: Tables and chairs and some booths. Highchairs available.
Price: RMB 400
Accepts credit cards? Yes
Must order item: Hummus with warm bread, salmon kebab with saffron rice. Or sample their best fare during brunch (Mon-Fri 11.30am-2.30) for RMB 88.
In a nutshell: If you’re looking for Middle Eastern food in Beijing, you will be hard pressed to find better. The decor is minimal and upscale, but they seem prepared for children with a kids’ menu and a playroom adjacent to the dining room.
