Lovers of all genres of music, get ready to don your finest concert wear, because Dulwich College Beijing and the Central Conservatoire of Music in Beijing have joined forces to bring you the Diversity Project. Shane O’Shea, Dulwich’s head of music, and Professor Benoit Garnier of the Central Conservatoire collaborated to bring seven concerts in seven days from a motley group of musicians including classical pianist Helen Lin, DJ Spooky, turntable artists Scratch Ambassadors, the Beijing Youth Orchestra, and the Wells Cathedral Choir.
The Diversity Project works in harmony with Dulwich’s music program, which aims to give student musicians opportunities in all genres of music. Accompanying the series of evening concerts, some of which will feature music composed specifically for the Diversity Project, will be master classes and clinics for young musicians. The seven day festival of music begins on Monday, October 22, with the final concert on Sunday, October 28. For information on specific concerts, dates, and times, click each date for its event listing. Tickets are RMB 40-70 per person.
