It’s hard not to fawn over the brightly-colored accessories and twee clothes at Fiona’s Prince. Rows upon rows of ankle boots and leather shoes are emblazed with hand-sewn dinosaurs, flowers, race cars, and fruits. Featuring natural materials like cotton and wool, the clothing line has a distinctly English feel, with pea coats, toggle closures, no-nonsense cardigans, and muted trousers. Established in Taiwan, Fiona’s Prince now has several branches across Beijing and caters to kids aged 0-8. The brand takes design cues from fairy tales while providing shoes that support – not hinder – a child’s development. Features include asymmetrical designs to help kids tell left from right, inner cushioning to ensure normal foot development, soles that vary according to age, side zippers for easy access, and 3M Thinsulate technology for boots. However, Fiona’s Prince isn’t cheap. Depending on the style and child’s age, a pair of boots can cost anywhere from RMB 1,098-1,998, a pair of shoes ranges from RMB 558-998, and pure wool cardigans average RMB 1,590. Keep an eye out for the brand’s various seasonal promotions.
