Grinches begone! My love of all things Christmas naturally extends to holiday jingles, to the point where I never actually get sick of them. And I’m someone who has pushed it to the max – I once worked in endlessly-looping-muzak-retail-hell, sang yuletide hymns in the church choir and performed a rat-pack Christmas medley in a pantomime – all in the same holiday season. But I was still Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree come the New Year.
If like me you’re still raring to Have a Holly Jolly Christmas, here are some Christmas mixes and radio stations to bring on the holiday mood.
Internet Radio:
Accuradio is free, works without a VPN, and has unlimited skips. Tracks are interspersed with short promos.
My favorite stations include Easy Listening Christmas and and Old Fashioned Christmas, but you can choose between every genre of Christmas music, from Jazz to Latin to Reggae. Yes, there’s an entire station of dub, reggae and dancehall, and it features natty covers like Santa Claus is Ska-ing to Town.
Mixes:
This mix from 8tracks user oldwhitelincoln has a selection of holiday standards such as Wham!’s Last Christmas interspersed with less ubiquitous songs like Merry Christmas (I Don’t Want to Fight Tonight) by The Ramones – handy if you’re developing aural fatigue. Free to listen to, with no ads, but only three skips, so use them wisely!
There are no classic Christmas tracks on this mix from Turntable Kitchen, but it’s festive and lovely nonetheless. With no ads to interrupt the festive cheer.
