Wow, what a year 2013 has been here at beijingkids. We highlight the events that kept the marketing department and the editorial team busy throughout the year. We would like to say a big thank you to all those who attended these events at various dates and times. The success of the events would not have been made possible without your presence. The various sponsors who helped to make the ideas a realization, we thank you for your continued support.
2013 Spring School Choice Fair
The second beijingkids School Choice Fair took place on March 3 at the Kempinski Hotel with 1, 500 people popped in to see what the 38 schools, seven healthcare providers and two education consultants had to offer. Parents attended education talks in the morning and afternoon by Dulwich College Beijing (educational needs and support) and beijingkids (expat parents placing their children in local schools) respectively. Next year’s fair is going to take place over two days on March 1 and 2.
Father’s Day "King for a Day"
This was a day that families treated their dads to a royal pomp and circumstance at our Father’s Day King for a Day party on June 15. Parents and kids wore jeweled crowns and indulged in what turned out to be a modern day tourney at East Beijing’s outdoor courtyard. Youngsters made cards and crowns for their fathers as well as played on bouncy castles. There was an endless supply of barbecue.
Back to School Summer Pool Party
Families kicked off the 2013-2014 academic year at the Westin Chaoyang’s exquisite indoor pool on August 10 followed by a lunch buffet at Seasonal Tastes. This was one last hurray before the back to school rush begun.
7th Halloween Costume Party
Two events were not enough for us this year, so we had three events across two days as kids both the young and old came out to celebrate the spookiest event of the year. Held at the Hilton Wangfujing on October 26 and 27, there were two evening sessions and one day sessions, catering for various age groups. We would like to thank the pumpkins for their service in the name of butchering fun. As customary there was a parade at the after kids trick-or-treated. Kids strutted their costumes to the glowing smiles of their onlooking parents.
2013 Santa on Ice
Our last event of the year was our annual Santa on Ice that took place at Le Cool Ice Rink at the China World Mall on December 15. Children got to have a photo taken with Santa, presents and skate to Christmas carols to get into the holiday spirit and kick off the winter holiday season and break.
Apart from the annual events that will take place next year, these being the School Choice Fair, Father’s Day, Halloween Costume Party and Santa on Ice (March, June, October and December), there will be new events to look out for. One such event will be the Panda Book Awards. We will keep you posted about the dates, times, and prices for the 2014 events cycle.
