The beijingkids and JingKids 2014 School Choice Fair is picking up steam ahead of its March 1 and 2 D-days. This year’s fair is going to be a bilingual event with lectures held in both Chinese and English, kids play areas and buffet lunch provided for by Hilton Beijing.
The online pre-registration is set to open next week on January 15 on both the beijingkids and Jingkids sites, find full information on how to do this here. The online pre-registration is necessary to book your space for the lectures which has limited space as well as the lunch.
The good news is that you can buy the buffet lunch now through our active taobao shop. Lunch will be served from 12pm till 2.30pm. The lunch rates are as follows:
- 1 Adult + 1 Kid (0-6yrs old) = RMB 220
- 1 Adult + 1 Kid (7-12yrs old) = RMB 320
- 1 Adult + 1 Kid (13 yrs and above) = RMB 420
- 1 Adult + 2 Kids (both 0-6 yrs old): The adult pays RMB 220, the first kid eats for free, the second kid will need to pay RMB 100 which comes to a total of RMB 320. If the two children fall within a different age bracket say 0-6 then that child eats for free while the 7-12 child pays RMB 100. Children above 13 yrs old will be charged RMB 200
- Children between the ages of 7-12 yrs old will be charged RMB 100

Parents have the options of leaving their kids in the care of two manned kid zones. Children within the age range of 3-11 years will be in one area whilst children 12 and above will be in another. There are loads of activities going to be planned and we will keep you updated.
There will be a lecture conducted by Harrow International School on, "Leading the way in international education with a perfect fusion of creativity and tradition to produce leadership for a better world". This lecture will be in English and be translated in Chinese. It will be lead by Lynne Oldfield, Headmistress, Alasdair MacRae, Director of studies and Nick Rickford, Head of Sixth Form from 1pm to 2.30pm on March 1.
JingKids and beijingkids will host two separate parent led panel discussions within the days and will focus on "What it is like for Chinese kids in international schools" and "What it is like for international kids in Chinese schools"
