There are hundreds of animals hoping to find loving homes in Beijing. If you are considering adopting a pet, Doggy/Moggy of the Week will feature animals from volunteer shelters, animal rescue groups, foster care providers, and pet owners needing to rehome animals. This week’s doggies, Honey, Sugar and Rocky, are from ICVS’ Adoptable Pets.
First featured first featured on the Doggy of the Week blog back in early January, this trio of siblings have yet to find forever homes in Beijing. Here is a short recap of the dogs’ information:
Names: Hi Everyone! We are Honey, Sugar and Rocky!
Background: Our momma was a stray dog that was taken away when we were very small. We are part of a litter (a “handful”) of 5 puppies rescued by a kind elderly man and then taken in by our current foster parents, Valerie and Matthias. Two of our siblings have already found homes. We are hopeful to find new homes before the Spring Festival!
Personality: We are playful, energetic, and loving pups. We are trusting and sweet and are well socialized and would make great companions.
Ideal home: We are fine with an individual owner or with a family with children (e.g., six-years and older). We love people and other dogs. We enjoy playing, eating and snuggling with our human companions.
Breed: Small mixed breed dogs
Dog registration and Licensing: We should remain small dogs and would be able to be legally registered in Beijing.
Sex & Age: Honey and Sugar are females and Rocky is a male. We are about 2-months old and have not yet been spayed or neutered.
Medical notes: We have already received our first two vaccinations and need a few more to complete our puppy series of vaccinations. After we complete our vaccinations, we may be neutered and spayed! The International Center for Veterinary Services will enroll us and our families into their Stray/Rescued Pets Adoption Benefits Program. We will receive up to 50% discount on our examinations, vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries at ICVS!
Official Vaccination Certificate: After our rabies vaccinations, ICVS will issue our families the official Beijing Animal Health and Immunity Certificates (e.g., vaccination red book) at no charge! We need these official vaccination red books to prove we have been legally and properly rabies vaccinated and to register for our dog licenses. We must have these official vaccination red books in order to move to another city or to leave China with our families.
Official Spay/Neuter Certificate for Dogs: After we have been spayed/neutered by our doctors at ICVS, the hospital will issue our families official Spay/Neuter Certificates that will provide our owners with 50% discounts (e.g., RMB 500.00 savings) on our dog license registration fees at the Public Security Bureau.
