Authorities Discover Melamine-Tainted Milk Powder...Again

It seems that the melamine saga is never ending. The Chongqing Jixida Food Company has been busted for hoarding 16 tons of melamine-tainted milk powder in the company's warehouse, according to The Global Times.
There are two angles to take on this: Either authorities are actually doing their jobs and cracking down on companies that ignore food safety laws, or China's food industries are beyond salvaging.
I've said before that change on a China-sized scale takes time, and this is not something to be underestimated. But reading a continuous flow of news about how everything either gives us cancer or causes mutations in infants does cause me to hang my head and let out a long audible sigh.
Do you just give in and live by the motto "too mafan to care"? Or is it organic, vegetable washing, filtered water all the way? See what some parents are saying.
