Gossip at the School Gate
Without wanting to create a ruckus, Dulwich International School sent a newsletter to parents recently warning of a single confirmed swine flu (H1N1) case at another unnamed international school. As a result the child and their class were placed under home quarantine.
Details are sparse, however there have been rumors that teachers returning from overseas vacations may also find themselves landing in quarantine. Word along the grapevine is that some schools may have to close down in response to the threat of an outbreak.
If you're worried or would simply like an update, we suggest you contact your child's school for more info.

Okay so now I'm worried. What school was it?
Re: Gossip at the School Gate
The details of the newsletter were very patchy. Dulwich did not name the school, the child, or the grade that was quarantined.
Unfortunately, there is no more info other than there has been a confirmed H1N1 case at an international school in Beijing and a grade is now in home quarantine.
Contact your child's school for more information - I'm sure they'll be happy to help quell any concerns you have.

Re: Gossip at the School Gate
interesting fact: my brother's kids in the US had cases of H1N1 in their school this past spring, and there was no quarantine. The sick children stayed home for a week and came back.
There was no resulting epidemic.
Some say the best course of action is to let the disease spread naturally (mind you, not encourage it to spread) like any other strain of flu virus and let the population develop a gradual immunity towards it.
