Labour Day Survival Camp with Imagine, Apr 29 - May 2

The International School of Beijing (ISB) will host it’s annual Spring Fair on Saturday, May 7 from 10am-4pm that attracts over 5,000 people and is an great avenue to market your company. Currently, there are different sponsorship levels available such as platinum, diamond, gold, and others; the deadline to commit to become a sponsor is March 23. This is the spring edition of Shunyi Happenings! Visit a bazaar and stock up on some luxury goodies for yourself, or pick up a unique gift to take home on your summer vacation. A visit to ISB’s Spring Fair will also give you an opportunity to spend, spend, and spend, with a wide range of vendors selling their wares. At the same time, you can enjoy some fun family activities and fabulous food. If you need to free up some space for all those things you’ll be buying, why not have a clear out and help raise money for charity at a yard sale?
Ever thought of writing a book? BSB teacher and author Kara Lebihan did just that. Come and listen toher read about the adventures of a pair of pink frilly knickers. Finally, if you’re looking for a friendly parent and child group, where you can have a fun time whilst meeting new parents, try Mommy and Me.
The Beijing snow of springtime has arrived, and the warmer temperatures are finding more people enjoying the outdoors (if allergies allow). From bazaars and spring fairs to Mother's Day, here are some events to check out.
Pinotage Restaurant (Lane Bridge Villas across from WAB) is the location for a “Mum’s the Word” mini bazaar TODAY from 11am-3pm. Enjoy a glass of wine or lunch while you shop at the tables of nine select vendors. With Mother’s Day this weekend, treat yourself to jewelry, clothes, bags and more! Also, bring Roundabout donations as this will be a drop-off point. For lunch reservations, call 6430 7010.
Enjoy fun (and free!) musical entertainment at ISB this Thursday and Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. Many of the talented middle school students will perform Into the Woods, the 1988 Tony Award-winner for both score and book of a musical (based on the book by James Lapine; music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim). Enjoy this brilliantly conceived exploration of “happily ever after,” based on popular fairy tales with instantly-recognizable characters. Thursday and Friday performances begin at 6:30pm; Saturday at 3:30. No tickets needed; show is in the ISB theater.
For 15 years the International School of Beijing has staged their annual Spring Fair, arguably the biggest expat school fair around. Over 5,000 people come to the ISB school grounds throughout the day to enjoy a wide variety of food, games, entertainment and more. And it’s free to the public! The forecast looks good for this rain-or-shine event on Saturday, May 12 from 10am-4pm.
