This is the spring edition of Shunyi Happenings! Visit a bazaar and stock up on some luxury goodies for yourself, or pick up a unique gift to take home on your summer vacation. A visit to ISB’s Spring Fair will also give you an opportunity to spend, spend, and spend, with a wide range of vendors selling their wares. At the same time, you can enjoy some fun family activities and fabulous food. If you need to free up some space for all those things you’ll be buying, why not have a clear out and help raise money for charity at a yard sale?

Enjoy fun (and free!) musical entertainment at ISB this Thursday and Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. Many of the talented middle school students will perform Into the Woods, the 1988 Tony Award-winner for both score and book of a musical (based on the book by James Lapine; music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim). Enjoy this brilliantly conceived exploration of “happily ever after,” based on popular fairy tales with instantly-recognizable characters. Thursday and Friday performances begin at 6:30pm; Saturday at 3:30. No tickets needed; show is in the ISB theater.
For 15 years the International School of Beijing has staged their annual Spring Fair, arguably the biggest expat school fair around. Over 5,000 people come to the ISB school grounds throughout the day to enjoy a wide variety of food, games, entertainment and more. And it’s free to the public! The forecast looks good for this rain-or-shine event on Saturday, May 12 from 10am-4pm.
