Far East Int’l Youth Hostel 远东国际青年旅店

Located in an engaging hutong south of Liulichang that retains an essence of the former "Chinese city" - Far East has (for now) avoided the wrecking ball, and teems with activity. Slightly insalubrious, this friendly hostel is divided into two compounds. The south building is an ugly, tile-fronted creation, while the north compound is built around a pleasant traditional courtyard. Amenities include on-site dumpling restaurant and nearby bike rental shop and travel agency. Free use of the kitchen. Laundry RMB 20 per load.
