New Hope Foster Home Donation

Two fifth graders at the International School of Beijing, Kathy Liu and Arden Wang, have organized a donation drive for sick and disabled babies at New Hope Foster Home. They have set up a 24-hour donation counter at Capital Paradise Clubhouse. They're looking for items like baby clothes, toys, washing detergent, cleaning supplies, and basic food products like rice and cooking oil.

Led by FA qualified coach, Gary Saunders, this year-round program will continue during the Summer Term. Boys and girls will learn everything from football basics, teamwork, strategy, sportsmanship, and how to enjoy the sport that will keep them fit for life! Participants will have the option of playing competitive matches on Sundays in addition to training sessions during the week. U9 and older will participate in the Beijing Youth Football League for Sunday matches, venues
will be Legend Garden and other international schools in Beijing. Students are encouraged to register for the Friday practice session if they wish to play in the Sunday matches. A full schedule of Sunday match locations will be available at the Legend Garden Sports Centre.

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most famous showstopper set the standards and established the rules of musical theatre. The high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background as they sing and dance their love story. This huge musical will feature 30 singers and dancers and a crew of 80 or more. The Pulitzer Prize winning stage show also won Academy Awards when it was turned into a major motion picture.

The MultiSport swim programme teaches the fundamentals of water safety and develops the skills necessary to swim efficiently, gracefully, and with confidence. Children may progress from a beginner level through to swimming confidently using the four principal strokes and will also have the opportunity to advance through the Amateur Swimming Association badge award scheme. MultiSport coaches are all ASA or AusSwim qualified. The coach will assess all children on the first week and assign levels according to ability.

Spring 2012 Basketball Program

ports Beijing and Basketball World are co-organizing the Spring 2012 basketball program at Benstalk International Bilingual School. This is a community program that follows the curriculum and structure of the already successful Home League program at Shunyi. All the programs are organized by Coach David Gros with support from a team of qualified and enthusiastic coaches. Coach David is a professional basketball coach with more than 19 years coaching youth basketball in China, Spain, and Serbia.

The Home League program provides an opportunity to the players to have some skill training and game situations at the same practice. During the skill development the coaches will use fun drills to teach and reinforce the physical skills of the students (general coordination, endurance, speed and speed reaction, strength, accuracy, balance, agility and flexibility), and also a general introduction to the basic basketball skills (dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, footwork).

Hike the Great Wall and relax overnight in beautiful hot spring

Nothing can beat a relaxing night in a country side hotpring after an amazing Great Wall hike. From the orchards of Hengling valley a friendly smile from the local apple farmer will set us of for a 3 to 4 hour hike on the wild Great Wall. Small in the beginning, majestic at the end. Halfway the hike we go cross country passing an old abandoned village where we have a small lunch. Desert will be a beautiful, up hill hike until we reach a very well preserved great wall .From than on it s a relaxing 30 minute hike on the Great Wall. A bit more downhill our driver will pick us up and bring us to the valleys finest restaurant for dinner. For desert, no more hiking but a relaxing evening in the healing water of the local hot spring with whirlpools, swimming pool, herbal medicine pool, outside hot spring and not to forget a wine pool! Once relaxed enough you can go for a massage, a game of snooker or fall asleep watching a movie in a super deluxe easy chair.
