Beijing Playhouse Presents Oklahoma!

PRODUCTION: Oklahoma! The king of all Broadway musicals comes to China! Featuring such classic songs as Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’, Surrey with the Fringe on the Top, and Kansas City, this amazing musical will have your heart singing. Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most famous showstopper set the standards and established the rules of musical theatre. The high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background as they sing and dance their love story. This huge musical will feature 30 singers and dancers and a crew of 80 or more. The Pulitzer Prize winning stage show also won Academy Awards when it was turned into a major motion picture.

Beijing Playhouse stages this classic musical in English with Chinese subtitles. Please note that the performance is on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7.30pm and Sunday matinees at 2pm.

Lisa is a Dulwich music teacher and has taught at international schools for ten years. This popular, fun-filled, music activity for young children will have participants singing, moving, and exploring a variety of percussion instruments.

Fête de la Musique

Started in 1982 in France, this event takes place every year in most French cities. It now tends to become global: this year the Fête de la Musique will be held in more than hundred countries in Europe and over the world.

In Beijing, on June 21st, from 6:30 pm till late, the district of Gulou will be taken over by the sound of live music. Come along to experience this momentous event and get the chance to listen to rock’n’roll, dub step, reggae, blues, jazz, electro and many with bands like Subs,The Amazing Insurance Salesmen, Mademoiselle et son Orchestre,MamaFunker, Beijing Beatles, Randy Abel Stable and many more.

The gigs will take place in the best bars that Gulou has to offer, from more intimate venues to electrifying stages: Mao Livehouse, Temple Bar, Salud, Modernista, 4 Corners, Zajia Lab, Jianghu, Tushugan 98, Blue Stream, Gulou121, Jiangjinjiu, Cangku, XP and Beiluo café will all be participating.

A variety of genres to suit everyone’s taste!

Entry is free, and with a wide range of genres represented, the event will satisfy anyone who wants to see sensational live music.

Charity Orchestra Concert

For all above 1.2m in height. Beijing Sunshine Philharmonic Orchestra hosts a full orchestra concert at the Poly Theater, a landmark building in Beijing which could accommodate 1500 audience. Sunshine Phil is a charitable body whose aim is to provide opportunity to enjoy classic music to deprived social groups, such as migrant children and disabled children. 500 free tickets will be given out to those social groups. Drama classes for children

Arthur Theatre, directed by Carole Ventura, is opening from April drama classes for adults and children.
The classes will be taught by Boris Cremene, in english, every Saturday (10-12am) in San li Tun.
The drama classes are open to children from 8 to 10 years old.
The classes start on 7th April.

BORIS CREMENE is a Romanian actor and director . He can speak perfect English, French, Italian, Russian. He has studied in the most prestigious drama school of the world : The Academy of Film and Drama of Moscow. He has worked as an actor all around Europe and South America. He is one of the founders of the famous company Eugène Ionesco with who he worked until 1998, through Ionesco personal agreement, interpreting roles in various well-known plays such as Shakespeare, Ionesco, Tchekhov, Visniec, Pirandello, Mamet......
