New Hope Foster Home Donation

Two fifth graders at the International School of Beijing, Kathy Liu and Arden Wang, have organized a donation drive for sick and disabled babies at New Hope Foster Home. They have set up a 24-hour donation counter at Capital Paradise Clubhouse. They're looking for items like baby clothes, toys, washing detergent, cleaning supplies, and basic food products like rice and cooking oil.

Ivy Chinese Summer Camp

The Ivy Chinese summer camp is ideal for families from outside of China who want to improve their children’s Mandarin speaking, reading, and writing skills through a fun and immersive program based in Beijing. The camp also aims to cultivate an interest in Chinese culture.

Target: Non-native Mandarin speakers who have some knowledge of Chinese, but would like to push it to the next level. One parent/guardian is required to stay in Beijing with the child for the full period.

Core age group: Age 5-9 (Children will be allocated to classes, which are streamed based on their Mandarin levels)

For younger siblings (ages 2-5): Younger children can join Ivy Kindergarten's regular Mandarin school. Guardians/parents can stay in the school's reception area in case the child needs them. Regular school hours are 8am-4pm, including lunch and nap time.

Ivy Academy's Sprouts Program is a summer camp program for ages 2-6. Under the direction of Ivy's teaching staff, kids will explore, experiment, and discover while having fun.

Program highlights include a wide variety of activities, outdoor play, art and science activities, swimming (led by a qualified instructor), age-appropriate activities, creative child-centered programs, field trips, and a safe environment within East Lake Villas.

There are two sessions: June 25-July 13 and July 16-August 3. (Each session has a unique theme and activities. Children who register for both sessions will not be simply repeating the same activities.)

Age groups: Class 1 includes ages 2-4 and Class 2 includes ages 3-6.
