All ages. Caishen, the God of Wealth and Prosperity, is a venerated Chinese folk deity that symbolize hopes and dreams. Praying to Caishen for wealth is an old Chinese tradition during the Spring Festival. The Peninsula Beijing is starting Caishen Peninsula Afternoon Tea in the Lobby from Feb 4 to Feb 17. They will provide Chinese tea and festive sweet and savoury snacks, such as “Wealth”, a baked egg white tartelette with birds’ nest, “Fortune”, glutinous rice pudding with mango, “Prosperity”, classic and goji berry scones accompanied by homemade clotted cream, mandarin jam mango cream, and gold, steamed baby abalone siew mai with XO sauce.
