Sanlitun: Pop Art for Dragon Boat Festival！
For the Dragon boat Festival, Atelier Sanlitun presents a exciting workshop that will allow children to dicover, explore, and learn about Pop Art and become a Pop artist themselves.
For this workshop discover Pop Art at Atelier!Pop art began in the US in the 1950s. Artists used everyday, standardized iconography in American life. Pop art presented a challenge to traditions of fine art by including imagery from popular culture such as advertising and news. In pop art, material is sometimes visually removed from its known context, isolated, and/or combined with unrelated material.
During the week, children will discover:
– comic strips with Lichtenstein’s work,
– the technique of screen printing with Andy Warhol
-Oldenburg’s soft sculptures.
Students will learn different techniques including:
– recycle objects and paper
– paint and self-portrait
– learn the technique of screen-printing
Lola is a French student from the Academy of Art & Design at Tsinghua University. In Beijing for a few years, she has acquired skills in both French and Visual Art teaching, but also graphic design and tattooing. Her classes can be given in English, French or Chinese.
