Art, creativity and more independent practice

This is a crucial age for creativity. Children are more aware of trends and how others perceive their work. They have entered a stage where their thought is more structured and has a clearer direction, their creative work too.

This course aims to push students out of their comfort zone. They will work on topics that will help them question their surroundings, create awareness, and have a richer understanding of themselves. They will also learn about the main trends that have shaped History of Art. The teacher will help them dig deeper in their abilities to create intelligent and ambitious artworks.

Techniques

Advanced techniques, watercolor, acrylic, ink, drawing, cardboard (how to use a cutter and a glue-gun), plaster…

Art history and cultural contribution

The teacher will do a link between each subject studied in course and an artist, oeuvre or artistic movement. He/she will explain the historical background of the oeuvres and give biographic details about the artists.

The students will receive a notebook in which they will do preparatory sketches, stick images and take notes about the artists or oeuvres they study.

Objectives of this class

Engineering Lab – 12/15 years old

The comprehensive engineering experience

This unique class offers to teens to learn the basics of engineering mixing mechanics, electronic and coding. The students will learn the necessary skills to be able to design and build independently their own machines and robots.

During the year they will study:

  •       Mechanical engineering: basic principles of thermodynamic and mechanical engineering.
  •       Electronics and coding: basics of electronics, sensor inputs, LEDs and basic electro-mechanical control using an Arduino microprocessor.

While acquiring these new skills, the students will learn project management and develop robotic projects with numerical machine tools such as 3D printers, numerical milling machine and professional tools.

Time:

Wednesday – 5:15 to 7:45
