Van Gogh (Shunyi Campus; 2 age groups: 5-8 yo & 9+ yo)
Discover one of the major artists of the 20th century: Vincent Van Gogh. Each day students will discover one topic related to the masterpieces he created. Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter who is among the most famous and influential figures in the history of Western art. He was very prolific. In just over a decade, he created about 2,100 artworks, Including landscapes, still lifes, portraits and self-portraits.
Journey to the Center of the Earth (Sanlitun Campus; 2 age groups: 5-8 yo & 9+ yo)
Discover “A Journey to the center of the Earth”, a famous book wrote by Jules Vernes in 1864. The story involves German professor Otto Lidenbrock who believes there are volcanic tubes going toward the centre of the Earth. Students will create a model of the earth crust and design the inside following the adventures of the book.
Make a Wireless Remote controlled Vehicle (Sanlitun Campus; Full day: 9+ yo)
During this 5-day workshop, students will first imagine their own original vehicle. It can be a car, a boat, sail boat, a yacht, a spaceship or your very own creation. Students will learn the basics of electronics and coding applied to robotics and vehicle:
- Coding using Arduino* processor
- Bluetooth communication
- Control of motors and servomotor
- Part of the vehicle can be machined using laser cutting machine and/or numerical controlled milling machine
