BBB: The Beijing Bilingual Babies Club
Not that it exists yet but I'd sure be interested in forming a group like this -- getting together with other parents that are bringing their baby up bilingually (English/Chinese).
Looking for parents of kids roughly the same age as ours (our's will be 8 months shortly), so I suppose babies from 6 months to a year or so would be interesting ... to get together once every week or so to just have the kids get to know one another.

my baby's now a toddler, but would love to get together with any bilingual/bicultural children between the ages of 12 months and 3 years ...

I'd be up for this as well -- I've got one 2yo [Shanghai, Oct '06; balanced Mandarin/English plus some Russian] and one 3mo [Beijing, Aug -'08; preverbal] -- and I'd be willing to host if there is real interest, so pm me and I'll get back to you as to place, time, etc. Am centrally located -- JianGuoMen/Silk Market/Ritan Park area.

well we never really got it off the ground but I'd love to really get it together this time. My baby's almost 2 and most weekends we've got time on our hands to meet other parents/kids!

Are people looking mostly to find playmates for their children or to meet other parents who are serious about bringing their kids up bilingually?
Anyhow, we've got a friend coming into town on Sunday, so it may be tricky for us to attend, but there is a nice indoor playroom in our compound that is free for everyone and particularly suitable for younger children [kids over 1.1m are nominally excluded, but it is generally enforced only if they are misbehaving].
How about if we set the first meeting for Sunday March 1 at 2:30pm in the clubhouse near the north gate of Qi Jia Yuan Diplomatic Compound? That's between the Silk Market and the Friendship Store [chinese below]. I'll pm a copy of this message to everyone who has expressed an interest in the last 6 months and we can see how it shakes out from there. The number at the desk is 8532 1782.

This weekend (i.e. tomorrow) would be good for us, we'll be away next weekend, but any weekend after that works as well.
Any suggestions on an activity or destination?
Our main goal would be to expose our daughter to more English speaking kids - which I would imagine wouldn't be a problem for a group like this.
Perhaps other people want their kids to be exposed to more Chinese - not sure how to make this work ...

the class is taught in chinese so your kid should speak chinese
my daughter is bilingual. She's been on the ice once or twice with me so far, so really a total beginner.
