15-month old has no appetite
Our 15-month-old hasn't been eating much of anything this past week, just her usual formula (prior to this, she was eating quite well). Other than that, she seems fine and her usual energetic self.
I've read conflicting views about what this means and whether (or not) it's a cause for concern. I tend to think it's just a phase, but one never knows.
Anyone have any insight into this?

Re: 15-month old has no appetite
our 2-year-old goes through stages of ravenous eating and disinterest in food. My own feeling (though far be it for me to claim to b an expert) is that kids know when they're hungry and don't need to be forced to eat (a sentiment, I might add, that is not shared by my mother-in-law, who sometimes seems hell-bent on cramming food into our kid's mouth even while she's loudly protesting "no!")

Have you ever noticed how some kids will scream and jump for chicken nuggets for dinner? Then, once it is ready and on the dinner plate, they say it is "yucky!"
Why, oh why???
It might just be a phase, but if it continues next week and the baby is losing weight maybe go see the doctor for a general checkup. Maybe baby has a simple sore in the mouth and it hurts.

Amen to that.
Grandma, however, is still hell bent on worrying - so off she's gone to the crowded children's hospital again this morning, with our baby in tow ...

Let me know how this works out at the hospital checkup.
Does the child often eat alone or with others? Although we don't have kids yet, we spend a lot of time with kids. And notice that sometimes kids have a heartier appetite when others around them are eating, especially if it's other kids and there is a threat that if she doesn't eat it the other child will grab it quicker! Ha! Vindication!
Our daughter regained her appetite this weekend when we went out to eat for lunch and then went over to a friend's house for dinner (we found out she is particularly fond of asparagus) - it seems the Chinese saying: "别家的菜香“ ( -- bie jia de cai xiang, or something like that; roughly translates as "The food is always better at someone else's house") is true!
I think she's just gotten finicky over time and wants (and perhaps needs) different tastes and foods than the usual home cooking ...

Re: 15-month old has no appetite
My son is almost two and has only weighed 22 pounds since his first birthday. It's normal for them to not eat. My son will go a week with only eating like 2 or 3 chewy granola bars a day, then some weeks he will out eat me(and I'm 7 months pregnant!). As long he is keeping the little bit he does it down he is fine. It is not "urgently" in need of attention.

Yeah - I've noticed that it comes and goes (our daughter is now 20 months) - I've read that oftentimes (and assuming they're not sick), toddlers don't eat because it's kind of a power-trip game - one thing they can control.
Judging from how sassy our little one is becoming, I'm inclined to agree.
