Ayi's don't work when employers come back from International trip?

We just returned to Beijing from the USA and our Ayi company has advised us that it is best that our ayi does not resume working for us until we have been here for 7 days and have proven we don't have swine flu. I understand precaution and all that, but has anyone else experienced this. I am inclined just to fire the ayi company and of course the ayi who just had two paid weeks off and hire a new ayi. Any thoughts anyone?

The Government is advising travellers from the US to take a 7 day quarantine period in their homes and are advised to stay indoors for 7 days. My ayi told me this had been on the local news so I think your ayi company is just following instructions they have heard. It isn't the ayi's fault so you shouldn't take it out on her by firing her! I don't think it is a written rule so if you insist on them coming, I am sure they will. Hope that helps....

Yes, this guideline has been widely reported. Some people are taking it a step further and actually enrolling in the hospital so they can be monitored more closely. That sounds extreme but that is what is happening here. If you insist, the company will complain and complain, but you are the boss. If you insist, they will come.

yes, it is the truth that ,there was 7 student infect with H1N1 in the school ,and more student and teacher has infected in these days. It is proved that it is an Ayi working for a family back from USA , then infected one student her later took care of.
So, The Ayi's company may be also persecuted by this situation.
