Looking for schools located in Central Park and Seasons Park

Hello everyone.

We arrived 3 days ago in Beijing with our 2 kids : A boy 3 years old and a girl 1 year old.
We have been visiting flats and have short-listed some places in 2 areas : Central Park and Seasons Park.
Now we would like to make our final choice of housing according to the best place for our kids to find a nice school to attend at a reasonable distance of where we will be leaving (walking distance would be perfect). If you live in one of these areas, could you please share your experience on the school where you are sending your child ?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hey Cecile, I believe there are EtonKids Bilingual in Central Park and EtonKids International in Global Mansion, which is within working distance from Central Park. Eton has been in a Beijing for a long time, is a well known brand here, has quite a few campus, thought I did here some complains from parents around. But you know, for everything there are people like it and dislike, you have to see it and make your own judgment.

If you choose Seasons Park. There is Ive Academy (East Lake Villa Campus), a little big far for walking, maybe 15 minute if I am correct. Ive used to have a kindergarten in Seasons Park, but heard no longer there now. Ive has great reputation of quality with all their campus, they have two other campus, one in SanYuanQiao, one in ShunYi.
Another choice is the SanLiTun Kindergarten(in SanliTun, behind the Village), which is a Chinese government-run kindergarten, but it's increasing popular among expats, for it's quality, price (much cheaper than all international schools) and the benefit and Chinese education, I heard more than 60% kids there are foreigner instead of local Chinese now, and they offer great portion of English too.
The third one is the British School in north SanLiTun, this one you cannot walk to from Seasons Pak, but not too far way by car, maybe 15 -20 munites with Beijing traffic. It's a great international school in every aspects, but Chinese teaching would not be enough if you want to your kids to learn it . "It's a like a few hours Chinese entertainment per week" according to one mom.

I send my daughter (2 year and 8 month) to the Family Learning House in JianWai SOHO, which I really like. It's not within walking distance to either of the compounds you are considering, but I know kids who live in Central Park go there, they either take school bus or car.

Another important thing: make sure to check the schools space before you make decisions of choosing your compound if you really worry about the distance, as some of the popular schools are so full now, they have a long waiting list for new enrolls.

Good luck!

Hi,

I live in central park and my daughter attends the British School in Sanlitun. To my knowledge they group the children based on their level so each group learns at their own pace. I believe that my daughters understanding of chinese is great for a 5 year old! She also takes the bus to school, which is about 10 minutes from Central Park, so not too far!

Hope this helps Smile good luck with your search!
