pre-K, therapist for child with disability
I'm moving (back) to Beijing in September with my 3 year old who has cerebral palsy. He is an independent walker but has a mild physical disability. I'm looking for a pre-school which have had experience with kids with special needs. I'm also looking for a physiotherapist/physical therapist to work with him once or twice a week. And referrals and recommendations are welcome!

There aren't too many services for children with disabilities. This school is a good starting point, and I'm sure they can connect you with other therapists/people in the community:

There are many services, if you know where to look.
First, join Special Child Beijing Yahoo group. (visit here to guide you to the group. )
Email a bit about yourself to LILING at special_child_beijing-owner{at}yahoogroups.com and she will invite you.
I have one daughter with Down syndrome and another daughter recovering from PDD-NOS (on the autism spectrum). (I mostly healed her with biomedical treatments, still working on it, but she's 90% there. She has some lingering speech, sensory and mild neurological issues, but I'm telling you, you wouldn't recognize her from 3 years ago.
Anyway, There is a very good hippotherapist named Priscilla. She also does traditional PT and for that service bills through SOS though she is kinda pricey if you don't have insurance to cover PT (ours doesn't).
Not sure if you use Speech, bhere is an excellent American Speech Language Pathologist who sees clients in her home. Both my special needs kids have been seen by her. But she is kind of mostly fully booked. If you send me a private email I'll forward your info to her, and if she contacts you, do JUMP at the chance to work with her. She is a special needs mom as well so also good to know on a personal level KWIM?
I also have contact info for another SLP in East Lake Villas in Dongzhimen, I can find that info for you too if that area sounds convenient. I know a woman going there, she is very pleased.
There is the Chinese Infant Development clinic- Dr Bao. Plus the CRRC China Rehabilitation Research Center- - see links section at the site for both. Have u looked into stem cells? There are several clinics around town. Can search at Special Ch BJ for "stem cell" sorry I;m NAK ttys! Liora

Liora, thanks so much for all the info. Can you please put me in touch with Priscilla? I'm so pleased to hear that hippotherapy is available in Beijing. My son just started horse-riding (more like horse-trotting, he just turned 3 afterall) and loves it. Do you know if aquatherapy is available in Beijing? We've been doing that throughout the summer and its made such a difference to him physically and mentally.
I did try to join the SCB Yahoo Group a few weeks ago but is still waiting for their approval.
My son doesn't need ST, but is currently getting OT. If you have a recommendation on that front, that would be great.
I couldn't find any info on Chinese Infant Development Clinic. Do you know their website/phone?
