Toddler cough and 37.9 degree fever
So here we go again - our daughter's third illness since starting kindergarten last month
This time around it's a dry cough (with a little rattle here and there) accompanied by a 37.9 degree fever
Doctor says it's something going around ...
Any advice on how to soothe our little one?

not much you can do except let it run its course.
This has been a lifesaver for us:

Oh yeah - we got that sorted already, but intend to use it very sparingly (as long as she is running a low-grade fever, we wouldn't use it)
Fingers crossed that she will be in good shape for our trip to the States next week!

lots of fluids, patience and tylenol when needed... yup, that's about it!
And for your sanity, remember, she's building her immune system, so it is a good thing!

Fever was pretty high last night, but after pooping this morning, seems to have gone down. Now our friends' daughter is sick as well.
Keep an eye on your kids!

No fever today, but still that awful, wheezing cough and a serious lack of appetite. She keeps gagging as well - I wonder if it's the phlegm or something else? Really, really don't want to go to doctor's again ...

Oh yeah, and now, she has a slightly sprained wrist. And still coughing. More doctor's visits, more medicine that doesn't seem to work.

not to freak you out but my daughter coughed for about 8 months when she was 2 ... we thought it would never go away.
It finally did.
still don't know what set it off, but there is such thing as a "habitual cough" -- it's like a cough that becomes a nervous tic, and the kids keeps coughing even after the illness has left his or her body. A nephew of mine had it and was prescribed some sort of cough supressant for a week or two and that did the trick

Wow. I guess that is, in a way, a relief, if it indeed becomes something chronic but not serious. Just hope it's not asthma. She's coughing a lot less this week, but still having coughing fits intermittently. I. on the other hand, seem to have come down with something far nastier - probably the flu. Word of advice - get those flu shots - this is making out to be a nasty cold and flu season.
