Winnie the Pooh (the original movie)

Ever since we took our daughter to Disneyland, where we rode the Winnie the Pooh ride - she's been obsessed. I've been looking for the original movie on DVD, but have thus far only seen lame computer animated "Tigger and Pooh" videos for sale.

Anyone spot the original Disney film - The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977) - around town?

There's a big white box set of kids movies lurking around the shops with mickey mouse on the front, Winnie the Poo is inside, well the disc is.

Awesome - thanks - you can't beat the classics

BTW - this is a really interesting article about how the film "The Black Cauldron" almost "killed Disney animation"

If you love old Disney flicks, check out Robin Hood (1973) -- hands down one of the best films they made. I haven't seen it around town, but maybe you can order a copy via Amazon?

Yeah - we got that one - our daughter loves it - and it's a great movie (love the soundtrack)

On the downside parts of it are a bit too violent, so after watching it a few times, I had to explain to her how fighting is bad and that this is just a cartoon - it really was a different era back when it was made

oh gee -- I don't remember it being that violent (it has been a while though!). As a kid I think I watched that movie at least 50 times, I just couldn't get enough of that dashing fox as Mr. Hood. Agree, GREAT soundtrack....I'm going to have to go out and find a copy now!

Re: Winnie the Pooh (the original movie)

These days I get old and more obscure films from Taobao. It's so convenient and the quality is generally quite good. But check with the vendors first to make sure the films are not dubbed in Chinese.

Robin Hood is also in the box set, Jenny Lou's near the park is where i got mine. There was about 6 Barbie disks in there which were useless to junior but most of the rest were decent. Oh, the "The Nightmare
Before Christmas" went straight in the trash!

Yeah - I love how they cram in the irrelevant extras - I found "Casper the Ghost" with my last Disney box set. Can't complain though...

I can't get that Robin Hood theme song out of my head - it's oddly appropriate for the Monday morning plod to work

"gaga gang gang gang gang gada gang.... gada gang gada gang gang gang!!!" Laughing You can start worrying if the office staff overhear you singing "We need a Poo, we need a poo" as you fill up by the water cooler.
