Easter egg hunt
I'm on an Easter egg hunt. I've got Comptoirs locked in and have heard rumours about Colibri cafe in the Village North offering Easter-themed goodies, but I'm yet to see any chocolate eggs in Jenny Lou's/April Gourmet. Is anyone having better luck than I am? Where are all the eggs hiding?

Re: Easter egg hunt
Jenny Lou's usually has a small, expensive assortment, but not until closer to the date. Best bet is if you know anyone at the Embassy. Their commissary usually has holiday treats like that, but they go fast.

Re: Easter egg hunt
That French bakery/cafe in lido usually has chocolate eggs and bunnies I think.

Re: Easter egg hunt
Hey admin - Thanks for sharing that list. At what point do you think Jenny Lou's might start carrying the above items? We actually stocked up on some Easter stuff when we went back to the states for a week, last month, but I'd love to get a few more things for the kids.

Re: Easter egg hunt
Slim pickins this year so far.
Wal-Mart has nothing.
Carrefour has some super big (and expensive) chocolate rabbits, plus small ones packaged at 4 for 22 kuai. Not cheap but at this point, the cheapest I've found.
Comptoirs de France have chocolate bunnies, but each is priced at RMB 60 and above.
The basement of Shinkong Place has chocolate shops that sell little foil covered chocolate eggs, but they end up to be about RMB 10 a pop for something about the size of an almond.
BHG In Shinkong Place is, as of April 1, full equipped with everything you need ... for Christmas.
and not at a discount.

Nothing like getting a head start ...
Some places around town seem to have the best strategy of all -- not bothering taking down their Christmas Decorations at all - way to save time and money!

I am so glad I am not the only one to find it "fancinating" with all the "old" holiday decorations. I really love the christmas decorations at the intersection of 3rd ring road and Dongzhimen (i think thats it) ....
but I am sure the "headstart" is the very reason! and today is better than tomorrow
see you all Saturday at Pizzapalooza!!!! btw...my family is gonna win!!!!
