"Breastmilk Baby Doll" - Yay or Nay?

Quote:
At first glance, the Breast Milk Baby Doll looks like any other cute little doll, but when it's held up to a special halter top with strategically placed "flowers" (ahem) worn by your kiddo, the doll's sucking mechanism is activated, making its mouth move--sucking sounds and all. It comes in six styles including boys and girls, and even has darker skinned options.

My 4-year-old already pretends to breastfeed her dolls, so I suppose this doesn't sound so out of the ordinary to me

I think it's fine and perfectly normal as well to have a toy like this (after all, there are many dolls that pee, not to mention barbie-type dolls for girls around the same age that now come dressed like prostitutes)
Seems that it's mostly in North America (or namely The States) where the controversy exists. For a society that's so saturated with sexual imagery in the media, it still has some pretty strong puritanical hang-ups

OK...I am on the fence on this. I think I like the idea cause I feel breast feeding is the way to go and it teaches our children the value of breast feeding as well as making our bodies be ok and not just sexual objects. But, when I first read this, I was thinking...I would never have a doll "BabyAlive" for example or the "pregnant barbie" in my house. I am a huge fan of the American Girl dolls. Imagination rich,

Mine used breast feed a furry Elmo while I fed her baby sister, so I don't necessarily think I would bother buying a doll with this feature. I'm certainly not against it being made. It's better than super-sparkle hair extension Barbie or Mermaida tail color changing Barbie as far as giving girls something positive that they can realistically aspire to doing someday.
Who knows, maybe by the time mine grow up there will be a way to grow your own pink tinsel hair. Pretty sure breastfeeding will still be around at that time, too. For now, I'm "yay" on the doll.

This is really a good toy for your daughters to learn about taking care for their younger siblings.
Though it can really be costly especially the variant which requires diapers. My daughter had one and we had to make do with washing it after she excretes her "Waste".
Though it can be really fun to play with. I remember my furby back when it was still a hit.
