Review of: IDC Dental

5

Took my 5 year old daughter to IDC for a check-up after another check-up during a school exam by another dental company advised that there were 4 cavities.
The office staff is very polite, speak English, and overall very nice. The office itself is very modern and clean and has toys and other things for kids to play with while waiting.
Now for Dr. Laute, what a pleasant person to meet. Came out to introduce herself to my daughter first and try to make her comfortable by getting some crayons and coloring pages and told my daughter that whenever she was ready, she could come back to her office and she would show her all her friends there.
After she finished her coloring, we went back and Dr. Laute showed her all her dental instruments using terms such as Mr. Air, Mr. Thirsty, the Sun, and the rocket chair to get my daughter comfortable. She then started her examination and after checking everything indicated there were no cavities as stated by the other company. And then just to make sure, she brought in another dentist to take a look as well. This dentist also agreed and when he looked at what I had from the other company, just kind of grinned as he kind of expected what company it might be.
Anyway, a great experience at I believe a reasonable price of 200 yuan. If you have kids or need dental work for yourself, I would highly recommend IDC.

Be careful about dealing with them

Review of: JNY Home Service

This company has you pay the equivalent of at least two weeks of the ayi's salary and will only assist you to find a new ayi if the ayi leaves within 3 months. If its one day over the 3 months they will help u find an ayi but make you pay again. They don't offer any negotiation about this and owners do not make return phone calls. So buyer beware.

Review of: Agrilandia Italian Farm Fireplace Restaurant

1

I keep saying I won't go back because of the poor service, but it was such a beautiful day on Saturday, we thought we would give it a try.

Being such a nice day, we thought it would be better to sit under an umbrella like every one else and not use the indoor dining. Maybe our mistake, as we were then overrun with dogs of all sizes who came to our table to rest, or to relieve themselves 5 feet away from where we are sitting, or worse when they do number 2 on the nice grassy area (and of course not picked up by dog owner) where my 2 year old wants to go run around.

Perhaps I won't go back and perhaps I am not alone with this as it was quite empty there on such a nice day. Also, I was the only foreigner there which is also unusual so maybe people are staying away. Bad service, high prices ? (400 kuai for a pizza, salad, bread, two juices, and some ravioli) and now the dogs.

Review of: Golden Jaguar

2

Our family is really into the buffet lunches on the weekend, so we thought we would try the Golden Jaguar. Maybe we picked the wrong time to go (New Year's Day), but it was so crowded and of course very noisy. There certainly is a lot of food to eat and drinks as well, but the place is just not very good for babies or those with toddlers, although our daughter did enjoy the food. I also did, especially the many desserts to choose from including Haagen Daz ice cream. Plus if you are a beer drinker, it seems that is unlimited as well. Price was 198 per person, so rather costly and we most likely will not be going back with the child at least.

Good food, quiet, and convenient

Review of: Horizon

We have been to the Horizon at least 3 times with our daughter. The buffet offers a good assortment of items that can please everyone. Our baby loves the steamed buns, slices of cheese, and great fruit selection. A bit pricey at 150 per person plus Service Charge and no drinks, but to be expected since its at the Kerry Centre Hotel.

Get Away from the crowds

Review of: Splash Recreation Club

We went to the Splash Club for the 2nd time this past weekend after experiencing it in the summer time. The location is out by the airport so obviously it is not the most convenient location.
During the summer, we went and enjoyed it very much. We went on a clear day, the pool was clean, not overcrowded, and were able to order food and drinks while being poolside.
This past weekend, we went first for lunch at their buffet restaurant, the Swiss Chalet and were the only people there. Having said that, the food was good and certainly the service was good as there were 5 people working. Had many salads, cheeses, breads, hot dishes including beef filet, fish, chicken, pork, plus spaghetti, and pizza. Also had waffles which my daughter enjoyed very much. Many good desserts to choose from as well. Price was 148 per person, so I guess we got our moneys worth by staying a few hours, plus daughter was free and she ate quite a bit.
We then went to the Splash Club, 100 per person and used their indoor pool to swim and play with the baby. There were about 6 other people there, so we it was enjoyable and clean, and the water temperature was comfortable. They do have a promotion where you can pay 600 yuan which allows you 10 visits I think. Also, you can join their Club for free and get discounts to the swimming area and restaurant.
It was nice to get away from the city and not have to be people to people.

Worth going to

Review of: Annie's

4

I guess I have been to every Annie's location and have to say that the food has been consistently good everytime over the past 5 years. Obviously it is not real Italian cuisine but the quality is standard from location to location and is reasonably priced. Now that we have a young daughter, we still go and she seems to enjoy it there. The service staff is attentive, have pretty clean hi chairs and all of them offer a play area.
Can't go wrong in going to Annies.
