If there is one story I love it’s The Wizard of Oz. The story starts in Kansas where Dorothy lives with her aunt and uncle on a farm. A tornado whisks her house away with Dorothy and her dog Toto inside. They fly off to the land of Oz, where the house lands on the Wicked Witch of the East, and Dorothy and Toto are heroes. Dorothy puts on the Wicked Witch’s red shoes, and follows the Yellow Brick Road to try to get to the Wizard of Oz, who can help her to get home. On her way she meets a Scarecrow, a Tin Man, and a Cowardly Lion. I have read this story many times to my toddler, but now that I am writing about it I realize how bizarre it sounds.
The StageCats of Canadian International School of Beijing (CISB) will bring this classic to life in a energetic and exciting way. The kids started their journey on the Yellow Brick Road in January when castings were made. The StageCats have previously performed other musicals like High School Musical, Grease, and We Will Rock You.
On April 20 and 21, CISB StageCats invite you on an unforgettable journey to Oz! Check here for more information.
