Yesterday the Swissotel Beijing was abuzz with over 30 exhibitors from a wide range of health centric businesses and organizations for the first-ever 2014 Family Health Fair. The joint beijingkids and JingKids event had over 300 attendees, with the various booths providing families with crucial information on living a healthy lifestyle in Beijing.

Freebies and demos were plentiful; yoga workshops, delicious samples of juices and salads, free and discounted farm produce, games and trivia challenges for kids. Children cashed in their completed "Health Passports" at the end to receive a backpack decorated with a crocodile or lady bug.

Where can we get organic produce? How much are some basic services at international and local hospitals? What air purifiers and masks are in the market? What about water pollution? Get answers to these questions from experts in various organizations in the health industry at the 2014 Family Health Fair this Sunday, September 14 at the Swissotel Beijing.

This fair is not about handing out fliers and calling it a day, no sorrie! This is a day about making an impact on the lives of the old and young in the community through fun interactive booths to create a relaxed learning environment. This event has been designed to be very child friendly and to get the most out of living a healthy lifestyle in the city.

With over two dozen booths featuring trivia challenges, sports-centric games and deals this fair is a not to be missed. The International Selfcare Foundation, a non-governmental organization has teams up with beijingkids and JingKids to have a mini-Olympics area. This can be a pit-stop as kids try to get their ‘Health Passports’ stamped to cash in for a prize. The passports will be handed out at the entrance to kids or the young at heart.

Apart from getting discounted massages and sampling organic foods, there will be coupons for RMB 100 worth of organic produce from specific booths for only RMB 10.

How do you keep your family healthy in Beijing? Find out next Sunday (Sep 14) at our Family Health Fair!

This free, kid-centric fair is designed to get your family up-to-date with surviving and thriving in Beijing.

Drop in to our event at the Swissotel any time 9:30am-4:30pm, and expect to have your kids occupied for hours!

Instead of a dull trade show with vendors merely handing out flyers, this event will feature over two dozen interactive booths from a wide swath of Beijing’s healthy community, each presenting challenges, education and freebies for both you and your children.

There will also be many deals and discounts to be had on site, such as coupons for RMB 100 worth of organic produce for only 10 kuai.

Each booth will feature kid-friendly activities such as sporting games and trivia challenges. Each child will be issued a "Health Passport", encouraging them to learn via completing activities and collecting stamps throughout the event and cashing their passport in for a prize at the end.

Children will also be challenged to test their physical fitness at our on-site Mini Olympics.

To maximize enjoyment for all and to prevent the event from becoming too overcrowded, we will limit visitors to no more than 500 at any one time. Should we reach this capacity, we will limit further entries until some of the current guests depart. Please note entry is on a first-come, first-served basis. 

There will be organic food to sample, massages on hand, and plenty of things to bring home for kids and for adults. No RSVP required — we’ll see you there! In the mean time, have a look at a partial list of exhibitors that have signed up so far:

With less than three weeks from the first ever beijingkids and Jingkids 2014 Family Health Fair, we will be rolling out lists of exhibitors who will be taking part. The fair will be held at the Swissôtel Beijing Hong Kong Macau Center on September 14 from 9.30am-4.30pm. Information on air and water filters, organic goods, Tradtional Chinese Medicine (TCM), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), charities, international hospitals, natural health, and beauty products will be on hand. Read on to see the complete first round list of the exhibitors.

Open to the public – young and old, recently arrived in Beijing or long term residents – the fair aims to bring the best health-related businesses and organizations to share information on various available services. Also, this is a chance to do a little networking as well as have some family fun. There will be booths for kids to spend some time away engaged in various activities.

Healthy food will be on sale to fill some growling stomachs. The exhibitors with products and some services onsite will offer discounts of up to 50 percent. Kids will have a Health Fair passport, which they can get stamped at the booth after completing an activity or activities. There will be gifts given to the children who get all the stamps.

After schooling, the other major concern for families in the city is health. The second edition of the Health Guide, now available online and print, covers areas of family health, maternity and pregnancy, healthy eating, mental health and counseling, and alternative therapies. These vast topics and sub-topics as well as the limited space in the magazine to cover every angle that addresses the concerns of families had us put together the first ever Family Health Fair.

The beijingkids and jingkids 2014 Family Health Fair aims to bring health-related businesses and organizations for a day of information sharing, networking and fun. There are 70 booths (booth table size is 46cm by 183 cm) open to hospitals and clinics, air filters, pollution masks and water filters, gyms and fitness centers, organic products, and dining. Exhibitors from this businesses or organizations can book a booth now till the deadline of Friday, August 15.

The title sponsor slot is available to non-health related businesses and organizations. The sponsor will be prominently featured in all the ads and marketing materials to come. We will be giving away goodie bags and there are opportunities for sponsorship available to jump in and materials from the organization be part of the goodie bag give away.

Old or young, new or old, the event is opened to all Beijing residents who would like to get a few answers and clarification about the services available from the various industry providers including Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), natural health and beauty products, air purifiers, masks and water filters, and much more. For the exhibitors, it’s a chance to get to mingle with wider community and clarify misconceptions.
