This expo is the most all-encompassing and largest-scale education event of its kind, that not only brings together an incomparable number of attending schools, but also a large, diverse number of attendees from Beijing’s local and expat parenting community.

Get your tickets here!

In order to shield parents from the overwhelming anxiety that comes along with picking a school, this expo will be a comprehensive educationally focused event seeking to inform in addition to providing a superb venue for schools to show off their fabulous curriculums and facilities. After all, education is not just about school choice. Scan or long-press the QR code above for ticket information.

The History and Development of JISE

JISE, formerly known as the beijingkids International School Choice Expo, is an annual fair focusing on the latest and greatest in education. We strive to not only give insight into school choice but also the rapidly developing educational landscape as a whole. The international education community and a growing number of schools are placing parents into a growing state of anxiety about choosing the right school, allowing for some to blindly give priority to a prestigious school over the necessary long-term educational goals. This year’s JISE is themed “Education Beyond School Choice,” for exactly this purpose of helping parents to ease their short-sighted anxiety and perform a more comprehensive probe into education through the great communication opportunities and learning experiences this expo is designed to present.

Jingkids International School Expo (JISE) 2019

JISE 2019 will have over 100 schools to choose from, spanning both the K-12 and preschool categories, ready to answer all of your questions about what’s new or more importantly, what’s next! Here’s a list of the schools that have registered to attend the event happening from Feb 23-24, and it’s growing by the day.

Autumn has been kicking into gear and with it, the BeijingKids forums – here are some highlights from the past few weeks – feel free to join in the discussion!

The challenge of giving birth in a Chinese hospital: getting a 母子健康档案

So my wife and I stopped by Chaoyang Hospital to reserve a room for her delivery next year, and were told we need to have a 母子健康档案 in order to reserve the room. The problem is, it seems you need to have a Beijing hukou in order to get this, but neither me or my wife is Chinese and we don’t even know who to speak to about the process for getting a 母子健康档案. I can’t believe that a foreigner has never reserved a room to give birth in a Chinese hospital before, so I’d love to hear from those more knowledgeable than us how a couple of foreigners in Beijing can get the 母子健康档案 to give birth in a Chinese hospital.

Ultra-scan

We are planning to use AM Care for birth of our first child, started prenatal checkups so far AM Care is great hospital but one issue I am not happy with is that for prenatal package they plan to do six
ultra-scans I think this far too much, two enough as I heard that ultra-scans are actually damaging to the baby due to it is a form of radiation which could cause later in life health issues does anyone have any experience or heard about ultra-scan issues?

Mr "Crazy English" accused of domestic violence

From Shanghaiist: Li Yang, the self-styled evangelist of the English language who’s known around China for his high energy, high intensity Crazy English lessons, is in trouble. A woman, believed to be his American wife Kim Lee, has gone on Sina Weibo to accuse him of domestic violence, and she has the pictures to prove it.

Little 2 year old boy doesn’t speak. Take him to doctor?

I need some opinions. We have a child who is two and a half years old and doesn’t speak much. In fact, he often grunts when he wants something even though he seems to know the words. For example, if I show him a picture book, he’d name the fish, dogs, cats, birds, etc. as I point them out. He smiles, of course, when I applaud his achievements. However, in a typical interaction, he often doesn’t speak on his own initiative. He knows how to call out for a cookie from the jar, but would rather grunt and cry and point to it until someone gets it for him. Is this something to worry about at his age?

One word – Priorities.
