Need an easy way to sell your crafts? Check out FengGuo (疯果, literally “Crazy Fruit”), a platform for users to sell their homemade products. Users upload the photo, price and other details of each of the items they are selling for other FengGuo account members to “heart” and buy.

In addition to their online store, FengGuo also has a number of bricks-and-mortar locations throughout Beijing in malls such as Raffle City and Wangfujing Yansha Mall. Artists can rent a “box,” or shelf, in these stores on a monthly basis. Call the store of your choice to confirm the price of the box; the boxes come in different sizes.

A wide range of items are sold on FengGuo, including stuffed animals, fake IDs of celebrities, Communist pins, snowflake earrings. As long as it is handmade, you can sell it!
The majority of items are between RMB 20-60; few are over RMB 150.

Although FengGuo’s website is easy to navigate, the entire site is in Chinese so some basic language skills are useful.

Leah Sprague is a high school senior and beijingkids’ intern for July. After living in Seattle for two years, Leah is super excited to be back in Beijing, where she lived from 2009-2012. When not at the office, Leah can be found biking or subway-ing around the city, soaking up everything before she leaves again in August.
