Beijing City International School (BCIS) is a non-profit private school. With the approval of the Education Committee of Chaoyang District, Beijing, BCIS acts as a pilot school offering educational reform and innovation through international educational practices that incorporate 16 grades of schooling, from pre-school to Grade 12. Learning is based on implementing the Chinese national curriculum by adapting both progressive Chinese and foreign educational philosophies, teaching pedagogies, management, and modern educational strategies. The school curriculum consists of Early Childhood, Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme, and Diploma Programme, all accredited and authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization. The school is also accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and is a member of the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS), the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS), and the International Schools Athletic Conference, Beijing-Tianjin (ISAC).

The program is implemented by the experienced faculty consisting of teachers from 20 different countries. To date, BCIS alumni have been accepted into more than 260 universities around the world. BCIS is licensed to offer a rigorous and respected international curriculum to both foreign and Chinese students.

Facilities: The BCIS Main Campus has over 50 classrooms, sports complex (swimming pool, football fields, gymnasium, fitness room), theater, design and technology lab, MakerSpace workshop, art rooms, individual art studios (specifically for G11 and G12 IB DP Art students), science labs, two libraries, two cafeterias, and more. The BCIS ECC Campus is an eco-friendly facility with 20 spacious classrooms, dining areas, indoor and outdoor play areas, learning kitchens, gymnasium, library, art room, rooftop gardens, and more. Both campuses also contain air-filtering equipment that removes at least 80 percent of PM2.5 particles.
Lunch: International catering company Aden offers both Chinese and Western meals in the school cafeterias and snack bar. BCIS ECC campus (ONLY) lunch menu works on a two-week rotation, and is eaten family-style in the school common areas.
