Beijing No.55 High School is a municipal key school and a Beijing Model High School. In 1975, the school was designated as an open school by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Beijing Municipal Government. In 1994, the School was approved by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) to become a member school. At present, the school has developed into a flagship IB World School in the Asia Pacific region. The school has adopted the IB Curriculum for International students and provides language classes for students who need improvement in Chinese and English. With its multicultural background, Beijing No.55 provides students with a variety of classes and extracurricular activities designed for students’ age, gender, ability, and language skills, so that they become active, creative, and responsible global citizens.
