Find Out Where Krisztina Beer Gets Her Prescription Sunglasses in Beijing

Beijing’s an urban jungle, and in any jungle, we need tools to survive and thrive. As urban jungle dwellers, we’ve managed to blend practicality with style, resulting in the modern bag. Here, form meets function, and what looks stylish and fashionable on the outside contains all our essential survival tools on the inside. Inspired by this, we ask expats each week, “What’s in your bag?” and get insights into which essentials they keep on hand when out and about in the capital city.

Krisztina Beer works for an international tech company. Originally from Hungary, in 2015 she moved with her husband and two kids from Berlin, Germany to Beijing. During her time in Beijing, she has been active in the Clothes Auction Network, which gathers women together in their homes to shop for secondhand clothes and raise funds for a charity of the host’s choice, to promote sustainable fashion.

I love crossover bags as they leave my hands free! This white Hermès bag is my favorite as it matches most outfits.

I never leave the house without noise cancelling headphones, which have the added benefit of keeping my ears warm in winter. I have headphones in multiple colors to match each outfit! The thermos bottle has become an addition to my accessories since living in China. It usually contains tea or warm lemon water.

I usually have masks in multiple colors (again, matching the outfit!) and my phone is in a case that stores ID cards as well. This way I don’t need to carry a wallet.

My car key is very large, otherwise I would not be able to find it in the bag!
